Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and map critical business functions, ensuring that IT portfolio and security initiatives are directly aligned with core organizational objectives.

  1. Expertise in defining, authoring, and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures to govern and protect critical infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Demonstrated ability in establishing and operating security programs that provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of network intrusions, insider threats, and other malicious activities by leveraging advanced security monitoring tools.
  3. Skilled in performing cyber defense incident triage to determine the scope, urgency, and potential business impact of security events, enabling effective prioritization and resource allocation for containment and eradication.
  4. Proven experience in driving security improvements by ensuring that robust Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) are developed, implemented, and tracked for all identified vulnerabilities, verifiably reducing the organizational attack surface.

Major Duties

As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) you will be responsible for the following duties: As an expert in information system technology and computer security (COMPUSEC), the incumbent independently oversees the design, development, acquisition, implementation and maintenance of specialized command, control, communications, and computer systems for the organization. Protects all assets against the unauthorized, accidental, or deliberate modification, disclosure, and destruction of data. Incumbent is often tasked to perform independent research and provide new concepts and guidance for others to follow and implement.

Incumbent is responsible for managing the organization's Network Security Program. Manages, conducts, and administers the Computer Security Education and Awareness program for all personnel working in the facility. Assists with maintaining continuous network and security operations through hands-on technical support to a variety of electronic infrastructure.

Provides trouble call management and resolution by providing first-level diagnostic services and on-site support until closure. Implements all Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Access Control System (ACS) future requirements and affects all system maintenance/repairs. Provides system maintenance, repairs and upgrades for the Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) system.

Performs installation and operation of sophisticated audiovisual (A/V) and related technical equipment, including video projection systems. Installs programs and maintains multimedia control interface systems and all related A/V system peripherals. Assists in customer operation of A/V equipment.

Maintains and meets all future system requirements of the facility's Video Distribution System. Assists facility electrician with IT support to networking projects by providing hands-on service against a full range of tasks including the installation, maintenance, adjustment, troubleshooting, overhauling, modifying, or testing of facility equipment.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
