About This Position
THIS IS A ND NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. Military membership is NOT required. This ND National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN), Position Description Number T5896000 and is part of the ND 119 Operations Support Squadron, National Guard.
Qualifications

This information is needed to determine if you are qualified for the position. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 09 grade level, which includes; 1) Working knowledge of the administration of all systems, to include a myriad of associated hardware platforms, software applications and numerous interfaces included in the Local rea Network (LAN); 2) Experience demonstrating proficiency in configuring hardware and software across diverse IT systems, including various hardware platforms and operating systems, to optimize performance and ensure stability; 3) Experience in leveraging analytical applications to evaluate system performance and recommend strategic hardware and software modifications for a variety of computer systems and; 4) developing and disseminating comprehensive technical documentation, including guidelines and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), to standardize the operation and use of assigned systems and services.
OR
Education: Degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks. Have a Ph.D.
OR
equivalent doctoral degree; OR Have 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
OR
equivalent doctoral degree.
Major Duties
This position is in an Air National Guard (ANG) Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The purpose of the position is to provide information technology system support to the assigned unit. Provide systems administration support on classified workstations and servers using multiple operating systems.
Responsible for installing and testing the classified system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining workstation and server hardware and software. Serves as a technical expert on multiple classified operating systems and computer platforms. Implements systems software changes, operating system releases and maintains the operational status of systems.
Analyzes system operations to identify inefficiencies and takes action to resolve problems and ensure optimal performance and consistency. Assists and advises users of policies, regulations, and systems provisions for the standard operating systems.
