About This Position

This assignment is a 1-year non-reimbursable assignment. Office of the Secretary Intelligence Operations Specialist Series Requested: 0132 Security Clearance: TS/SCI Virtual/Remote: No Only current, full-time federal employees are eligible. Qualifications

Qualifications required: Knowledge of the Intelligence Field in the development of new methods, approaches, and procedures. Ability to communicate complex ideas and analyses orally and in writing to inform decision making and courses of action from analytic activities. Knowledge of the Intelligence Community and Department of Homeland Security Intelligence Enterprise including missions, functions, and authorities.

Ability to contribute meaningful analysis to the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Homeland Security Components, and other partners as necessary. Knowledge of research tools to conduct in depth research and analysis and reconciles all-source intelligence to produce a full range of complex finished intelligence products and assessments. Briefs senior leadership regarding evolving threats concerning terrorist travel, engagement with international partners, and movement of foreign intelligence officers, or foreign fighters.

Assists in identifying key intelligence gaps on critical threats to the Department of Homeland Security and essential functions by working with Intelligence Community partners and collectors. Major Duties

This position will report to the Continuity Operations Chief in support of the DHS Continuity Coordinator threat priorities, mitigation planning, and informed decision making. The duties will include: 1) Supports the DHS Office the Secretary's (S1) continuity program and activities; 2) Supports the DHS Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and S1 successors' emergency relocation program and all associated activities/functions; 3) Liaisons and coordinates regularly with various S1 support stakeholders and mission partners to enhance departmental readiness for all hazards, at all times; 4) Supports the Departments Continuity Program by conducting Emergency Relocation Group planning, operations, testing, training, and exercising. Analysis of threats and reporting will consist primarily for: 1) Any credible threat to DHS leadership or personnel; 2) Any credible threat to ICT supporting essential functions at primary sites, continuity sites, or at devolution sites; 3) Any credible threat to assets supporting relocation operations; 4) Any credible threat to the continuation of DHS operations, mission essential assets, and essential functions at primary sites, continuity sites, or the surrounding areas; 5) The available window to execute the continuity plan, deploy continuity personal, relocate, or devolve operations.

If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position. Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include: Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA. Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA. Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
