About This Position
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1622000 and is part of the TN 118th WING Air National Guard. This vacancy is not eligible for membership to a labor organization. Note: This position is physically located at the Tennessee Joint Force Headquarters/A1, 3041 Sidco Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 through E-7 Compatible Military Assignments: 3F0X1 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months specialized experience or training or at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or the equivalent, which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experience in using references and resource materials and experience in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experience may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experience in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. Experience in human resources programs related to Career Enhancements, Customer Service, Employments, Relocations, and or Readiness. Perform other duties as required.
Major Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (TITLE 32/MILTARY), GS-0201-09, you will serve as advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) programs. Plan, direct, control and provide advisory services on all aspects of the Career Enhancement program for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR), unit drill status guardsmen, full time technicians and potential members. Plan, direct, and control all aspects of the Customer Service Program, human resources employment program, and the Relocation program for all members. Ensure accuracy of human resources data system and perform functional review of data reliability relative to the relocations program. Develop wing readiness plans for the administration of contingencies and mobilizations. Manage contingency and exercise deployments. Serve as Classified Control Officer responsible for safeguarding and proper destruction of classified material IAW AF instructions, higher headquarters and local guidance. Responsible to the Joint Force Headquarters Director of Staff-Air for personnel and administrative support to the staff and three Air Wings across the State of Tennessee. Perform other duties as assigned.
