THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) - TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2056000 and is part of the KY J1, National Guard. ***Effective start dates of selected candidate will be determined based on available authorizations and funding.***
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Administrative or clerical experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 9 months experience that provided knowledge of general office work which may include but is not limited to: answering telephones, receiving and distributing mail and maintaining records. Experience following oral or written instructions to accomplish work. Experience establishing and retrieving files and information. Experience using common computer software designed for word processing. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates, work schedule, and/or hours worked per week for both civilian and military employment. (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only and unspecified work schedule will result in disqualification. Major Duties
As a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) - TITLE 32, GS-0203-6, you will assist in administering the military personnel program for the organization. Accomplish or review military personnel transactions including enlistments, separations, flagging actions, reassignments, promotions, duty assignments, transfers, medical evaluations, line of duty actions, security clearances, awards and decorations, retirements, etc. Provide information and assistance to personnel completing personnel actions. Provide administrative support for enlisted promotion boards. Review enlisted promotion actions prior to submission. Assist with the coordination of health services support. Review the status of physical examinations within the command. Provide assistance to the commander and staff pertaining to military personnel administration. Research and resolve routine military personnel problems and questions. Provide information to unit personnel about benefits and entitlements, career and bonus programs, educational, retirement, and other benefits. Participate in unit Soldier Readiness Processing as needed. Provide counseling to service members on available benefits, accuracy of the emergency data/contact information and the accuracy of the personnel system information. Review unit reports to identify discrepancies and assist with the management of personnel assets within the organization. Perform various administrative duties relating to military personnel. May be required to assist in the recruiting and retention activities of the organization. Perform other duties as assigned. ***NOTE: Current on-board applicants (AREA 1, Title 32 employees) will retain current tenure and be temporarily promoted or reassigned, all others will be hired with indefinite tenure.*** Military Grades: E3 (PFC) - E8 (MSG) RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a trial period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
