Qualifications
Must have at least one year¿s experience demonstrating good knowledge of cash handling procedures and regulations and the ability to learn to count large sums of money with extreme accuracy. Must be able to use office equipment such as postal meter, and machines typically used for counting money. Must have the ability to communicate with others in a clear and concise manner. Must have a valid driver¿s license. This is a mixed position where occasional lifting up to 35 lbs may be required.
Major Duties
Major job duties and responsibilities include the collection and issuance of money bags, cash funds, and turn-in bags from salesclerks and activity locations; receives, counts, balances and verifies monies received with daily cash reports. Secures office at closing time. Maintains log, and record movements of money bags. Assists in maintaining complete and systematic set of records on all cash transactions. Performs unannounced cash audits of other MCCS activities. Assist supervisors daily in directing subordinates by answering questions, resolving problems which arise, training new employees, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations. Checks to ensure the periodic procurement of supplies and equipment required for an efficient operation, and maintains security of funds, supplies, equipment, and property under existing instructions. Will operate a motor vehicle to MCCS facilities to accomplish routine cash runs, ensuring that appropriate security measures are taken to receive and deliver funds and other items safely. Verifies and accounts for cash receipts turned in require examination of cash and cash processing documents for validity, negotiability, and completeness. Ensures that appropriate security measures are used to protect and prevent the loss of money and other items. Responsible for protecting and repelling the attempted theft of funds, other items and property for which the incumbent is responsible. Must maintain secrecy regarding confidential, sensitive or official matters, including office procedures, routes, schedules, and communications used. Loads and unloads vehicle to distribute mail and other articles. Sorts and distributes mail as directed. Ensures appropriate security measures are taken to receive and deliver funds and other items safely. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Ask questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction with the quality of goods and services. Take action to solve problems quickly. Alert the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Use required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a mixed position.
