About This Position

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees.

Qualifications

Knowledge of grounds upkeep, maintenance tasks and methods related to basic golf course maintenance desired. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds..

Major Duties

Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of golf course and surrounding areas. Duties consist of mowing and rolling greens, mowing tees and surrounding areas. Resets of cups and flags. Operates weed eaters and edgers in many areas where mowers cannot reach.

Operates various other tools and equipment, including push and hover mowers, seeders, spreaders and trim mowers. Rakes and edges sand traps and replaces with fresh sand as required. Ensures areas are polished and that trash and garbage are disposed of properly.

Performs minor maintenance to equipment such as; grease mowers, checks engine oil and fluids on mowers. Performs other duties as assigned related to golf course grounds and equipment maintenance. The majority of work is performed outdoors possibly under adverse weather conditions.

May be exposed to long periods of extreme heat or chilly or rainy weather. Subject to dust, dirt, mud and chemical elements contained in fertilizers and pesticides. Frequently stands, bends, walks and stoops in the performance of varied manual tasks such as raking, pushing mowers and carts, lifting and carrying fertilizer bags, equipment and work tools.
