Qualifications

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Currently in pursuit of a bachelorโ€™s degree in Logistics, Project/Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural or related discipline. Knowledge of and proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task, work independently, and with a team as required. Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications Ability to establish effective working relationships with House staff.

Major Duties

Job Summary: The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 800 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, childcare, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel. This paid internship* is located in the Logistics, Design and Special Projects, Logistics & Support, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, U.S.

House of Representatives. The purpose of Logistics and Support is to provide important logistical services to the entire House community. The purpose of the Logistics, Design and Special Projects Directorate is to provide important logistical services to the entire House community, including building, repairing, moving, setting up, and breaking down furniture; facilitating office moves; and managing all accountable equipment assets within the House.

This intern will have the opportunity to view the inner workings of the U.S. House of Representatives and learn about its operations. The position does not have day-to-day supervisory/managerial responsibilities.

This position may have access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII). *Paid at an annual rate of $36,834 not to exceed 120 days. ** The CAO standard business hours are 8:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week internship that will require onsite attendance in Washington, D.C.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Gain hands-on experience across Logistics, Design, and Special Projects within Facilities Operations. Support logistics activities, including furnishings movement, office renovations, office relocations, and stakeholder coordination. Assist with furniture design consultations and interior design support initiatives.

Provide support for facility-related projects and basic project management tasks. Participate in logistics, design, and special project initiatives as assigned. Observe and assist with internal workflows related to Congressional Transition activities.

Support reconciliation and review of CAO space assignments, assets, and furnishings. Assist with space planning and adjacency planning efforts. Perform other official duties as assigned.
