About This Position

This position is part of the EDF Office of Energy Dominance Financing, Department of Energy. As a Energy Program Associate, you will be individually assisting with carrying out the review, analysis and processing of loan and loan guarantee applications and agreements. The intent of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Business Exchange Program (BEP) is to infuse the Department with industry expertise to meet new or recent program, mission objectives, or regulatory directives on a short-term basis.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Conducting financial analysis of transactions valued at $50 million or more (excluding single-family home loans, residential mortgages, and standard commercial real estate).; AND Assisting in structuring, negotiating, and closing commercial financial transactions in a fast-paced environment (experience typically gained in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, or corporate consulting).; AND Supporting the structuring, negotiation, and closing of large-scale corporate credit and/or non-recourse project finance transactions.

As an Energy Program Associate, you will: Monitor credit market developments of assigned energy projects and provides continuing support on those applications considering those developments.

Assist in the preparation of the necessary documents required through the Department of Energy (DOE) financial, technical, and environmental review process. Visit project sites and meet, interview, and analyze management teams as required. Meet with other DOE offices to further cross-departmental collaboration and shared learning.

Assist in the preparation of presentations and project status dashboards for senior management highlighting the status of loan guarantee program current portfolio. Work with senior staff or supervisor to determine if project sponsor's projects are ready for full-scale commercialization and the initiation of full due diligence and underwriting.
