Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. AREA 1 = All permanent Technician Officers (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. AREA 2 = All indefinite Technician Officers (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Air National Guard. DUTIES: As a DIRECTOR OF FORCE SUPPORT (D2696000), GS-0301-13, you will is to serve as the Force Support Squadron (FSS) Director and to exercise first and second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the FSS, manage the activities of the FSS, and oversee the planning, direction, and timely execution of high visibility and high impact FSS programs. The Director of Force Support makes independent technical and executive decisions for the squadron in all areas of functional responsibility. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Title 32 Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower-level GS-12 position or the equivalent THIRTY (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as directing, planning, organizing, and overseeing support services activities; serving as the primary advisor to senior leaders within and outside of the organization; providing work oversight, training, and direction; directing Recruiting and Retention operations; managing multiple resource budgets with differing legal requirements and timelines for execution; making decisions on complex work problems; implementing ways to improve processes, eliminating bottlenecks, promoting team building, and improving business practices; exercising delegated authority and supervisory personnel management responsibilities; advising and providing counsel to employees; explaining performance expectations. NOTE: This position is a Commander position and selectee must be assigned in a compatible military skill prior to the effective of the appointment.

Major Duties

This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (PRANG).

Education

SUBTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition, completion of courses such as the Officer Advanced Course, Squadron Officer School, Command and Staff College, Air and Army War College, National Security Management Course and others of comparable level will be credited at the rate of (1) month of education for TWO (2) months of specialized experience.
