Major Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL is searching for a Division Chief, Manpower and Personnel, USSF CENTCOM (NH-0201-04, GS-14/15 Equivalent). Description: Are you a forward-leaning leader looking to shape a command's civilian and military human resource program? If so, come lead the SPACECENT S1 as the command rapidly matures and grows in personnel, roles, and responsibilities.
As the SPACECENT S1 Division Chief, you will lead the charge in managing personnel positions and developing the command's force structure to operationally present forces to the U.S. Central Command.
This job will have many challenges but will also be rewarding in the knowledge that you helped with establishing how the USSF postures to execute warfighting functions across the globe. Ideal Candidate: The desired candidate must possess government civilian management expertise. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in military personnel management. Key Skills and Abilities: 1.
Skill in written and oral communication to effectively advise senior leadership, manage a diverse workforce, and represent the command's interests on complex manpower and personnel matters.
- Mastery of civilian and military human resources management principles, policies, regulations, and laws to administer a comprehensive and compliant personnel program for a joint/service component command.
- Knowledge of strategic human capital management and higher-echelon (USSF/DoD) program objectives to develop and implement local command HR policies and long-range workforce development plans.
- Ability to direct and integrate complex HR program segments, including but not limited to, recruitment, labor relations, performance management, and military manpower, ensuring seamless support for the command's mission.
- Skill in utilizing human resources information systems (HRIS) and data analytics to manage personnel actions, generate reports, and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvement and strategic decision-making.
