About the Position: This position is locatedat For Jackson, (Richland) South Carolina. All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Custodial Worker Leader To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following providing guidance on cleaning safety and/or housekeeping rules; sweeping, mopping or waxing floors; and/or performing general outdoor maintenance such as: mowing, window cleaning or snow removal without more than normal supervision without more than normal supervision - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading) Ability To Lead or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties. Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment.

Major Duties

Disinfects restrooms to include urinals, toilet bowls, and sinks. Dusts, waxes, and/or polishes furniture and fixtures.
Empties waste baskets.
Responsible for requesting cleaning supplies through Supervisor.
Sets up and tears down for special events or assemblies.
Adjusts and/or performs minor maintenance to attachments on power equipment
Ensures that needed materials and tools are available on site for workers to complete daily duties.
Responsible for closing school by following all security procedures.
Demonstrates proper work methods.
Responsible for ensuring that school is clean and ready for the next day.
Provides updates to supervisor on status and progress of work.
