About This Position
This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAE) Community Programs (N92) Branch, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Habor Hickam (JPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service to patrons as well as to perform a variety of duties in support of the MWR community recreation program; located at Kona Winds Complex.

A qualified candidate must possess: A minimum of one year experience which provides knowledge of club, restaurant, business operations, or equivalent leadership experience is required. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and sales operation. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and to provide work direction to other employees. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must walk or stand for prolonged periods of time. Work is normally performed inside with adequate light, heat and fresh air. Applicants must be 21 years old or older. Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationship with others. Must meet Federal employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
Major Duties
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors operations of a club or assigned area, normally during absence of the club manager and/or assistant manager, and normally at night or on weekends. Responsible for the issue, receipt, and control of cash. Makes unscheduled cash counts. Prepares reports of significant occurrences during the shift. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer issues. Inspects and secures facility at the end of the shift. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies, equipment and property in accordance with directives and regulations. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Performs other related duties as assigned.
