About This Position
This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW (R&E)). The USW(R&E) serves as the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for research, development, and prototyping activities within the Department of War (DoW).

This includes developing strategies to manage potential budget shortfalls or unexpected expenditures and ensuring that financial practices are resilient against various economic scenarios. Applying the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process and budget.
Ensuring compliance with federal financial regulations and standards within an organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Major Duties

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Manage budget execution and integration activities within the Resources and Analysis (R&A) Directorate under the OUSW(R&E). Provides reviews, analyses, and recommendations on all aspects of accounting, budgeting, and financial management for OUSW(R&E), which has an annual budget exceeding $5 billion. Provides program evaluation factors and techniques to assess program accomplishments and to identify resource and programmatic requirements.
Develops long-term financial forecasts and scenario planning involving analyzing past trends, current data, and future projections to inform strategic decision-making and allocate budgets effectively.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience.
