Major Duties

You will under the direction of the Lead Audiovisual Production Specialist, install, configure, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain audiovisual systems throughout the Naval Postgraduate School.

You will perform installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and repair of audiovisual systems including projectors, flat panel displays, Extron control systems.

You will repair switchers, signal distribution equipment, DSPs, microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers, cameras, presentation computers, and associated infrastructure.

You will provide customer training and ensures the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of customer support services.

You will provide information and guidance to the administration on up- to- date audiovisual technologies and their capabilities to support instruction.

You will attend training as requested, self trains on current and emerging audiovisual technologies, and shares knowledge with co-workers.

You will provide day-to-day technical leadership and guidance to assigned enlisted audiovisual technicians during the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems.

You will diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, signal flow, and network-related audiovisual issues to restore classroom and conference room functionality with minimal disruption to instruction and campus operations.

You will configure, modify, troubleshoot and maintain Extron control systems, user interfaces, and system programming.

You will monitor and administer enterprise audiovisual systems using Extron Global Viewer Enterprise (GVE), including remote diagnostics, equipment monitoring, firmware updates, system health reporting, and device management.

You will provide technical support for Microsoft Teams collaboration technologies and presentation systems used in instructional and administrative environments.

You will support live meetings, conferences, ceremonies, and special events requiring professional audiovisual operation and rapid technical troubleshooting.

You will Install, test, label, and document audiovisual cabling, equipment racks, and system infrastructure in accordance with established campus standards and industry best practices.

You will maintain accurate equipment inventories, configuration records, wiring documentation, and maintenance logs.

You will evaluate new audiovisual technologies and provide technical recommendations to the Lead Audiovisual Production Specialist regarding compatibility, lifecycle replacement, and system improvements.

You will provide operational instruction to faculty, staff, and enlisted personnel on classroom audiovisual systems and presentation technologies while delivering responsive technical support and excellent customer service.

You will maintain technical proficiency through manufacturer training, industry certifications, and continuing education on current audiovisual technologies.

Additional Information

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Desired Knowledge and Skills. Extensive experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining professional audiovisual systems.

Experience with Extron control systems, signal distribution, switching, and enterprise AV management. Experience programming and maintaining Extron control systems using Global Configurator and other Extron software. Experience administering Extron Global Viewer Enterprise (GVE) for enterprise monitoring, diagnostics, device management, and reporting.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams collaboration technologies. Experience supporting DSPs, microphones, amplifiers, loudspeakers, projectors, flat panel displays, and presentation computers. Working knowledge of HDMI, DTP/HDBaseT, USB, CAT6A, and basic IP networking as it relates to audiovisual systems.

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex audiovisual system failures under time-sensitive conditions. Experience installing equipment racks, cable management systems, and structured AV infrastructure. Ability to read and interpret system schematics, wiring diagrams, signal flow drawings, and construction documents.
