Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: Experience which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; ability to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting parts, subassemblies and components and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Major Duties

As an AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR, WS-8801-14, you will plan the overall allocation of personnel, funding and equipment resources for the organization. Ensure unit aircraft are in combat ready status and able to be fully integrated with USAF aircraft and missions. Function as integral member of unit's planning process, serving as the responsible technical resource for a maintenance division. Coordinate, direct and balance the workloads and priorites of units. Assign and explain work requirements to subordinate supervisors and set deadlines. Analyze production, cost and personnel utilization records and make adjustment in operations to correct problems. Check work operations to assure production and quality standards are achieved. Recommend promotion or reassignment of subordinate supervisors and review personnel actions and appraisals. Determine training needs for subordinates, and develop resource options, justifications and methods to accomplish training. Promote and administer programs such as cost reduction, incentive awards, suggestions and quality assurance. Perform all administrative supervisory tasks as required. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and operations. Perform other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment

Military Grades: SMSgt/E8 - CMSgt/E9 RANK REQUIREMENT: Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard. You must be assigned to a compatible military position. Wear of the military uniform. Position may require a pre-employment physical. May be subject to furlough actions. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Must obtain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation. Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus. Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility. Must attended Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position.
