About This Position

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for an AIRCRAFT LOADMASTER (INSTRUCTOR), Position Description Number PDD2300000 and is part of the WY 153d Operations Support Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.

Qualifications

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Primary consideration will be made from Areas 2 and 4. If referrals are not made from either of the target categories, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible). Area 2: Permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (NG) Title 5 and T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Title 5 employees must be eligible to convert to T32 Dual Status. Area 4: Current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current and prior military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. TECHNICIAN INFO Type of Appointment: Indefinite, Temporary Tenure: Group 3 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm FLSA: Exempt Telework: The duties of this position require primary physical presence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience in functions such as preparing aircraft loading plans, loading and offloading aircraft, operating loading equipment, and ensuring security of cargo in flight. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience regarding capacities and limits of the various stations and compartments of the aircraft; aircraft cargo safety; aircraft flight manuals; and training personnel in the build-up, loading and rigging of the different aircraft cargo combinations to include airdrop of equipment and supplies. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess AFSC 1A172N, Mobility Force Aviator (Loadmaster) DRIVER'S LICENSE: You must possess a valid driver's license.

Major Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to administer, schedule, and conduct flight and ground training which develops, upgrades, and evaluates the skills of loadmaster aircrew members; to perform aircrew duties as instructor loadmaster in the unit type aircraft and to perform related staff support duties; to train crewmembers in these duties. (1) Develops and provides technical loadmaster upgrade and proficiency training/instruction to aircrew members. (2) Accomplishes all requirements involved in mission planning and coordination. (3) Accomplishes a wide variety of preflight, in flight and post flight duties required by the nature of the aircraft assigned and the aircraft's specialized mission. These duties may be performed in either basic or instructor status. (4) Coordinates with the pilot during in-flight emergencies, assists in analyzing malfunctions, and prepares the aircraft, cargo, and passengers for evacuation, ditching, or crash landing. (5) Administers no notice, pyramid and annual evaluations. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **

KEY REQUIREMENTS: Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members. Federal employment suitability is determined by a background investigation. An indefinite position may be converted to Perm if funding/position is available. EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS & NOTES: Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives. Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice. 1. Must attain and maintain mission-ready status at the appropriate crew qualification level in the unit's assigned aircraft. 2. Incumbent is exposed to physiological hazards of flight plus physical and psychological demands of routine lengthy missions (up to 24 hours duration), must work in confined, hazardous noise areas, is subject to inclement weather during ground operations and dangerous environmental conditions during flight, and may operate in austere location. 3. Required to travel in military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments. 4. Must be instructor qualified, maintaining proficiency in the Principles of Instruction. 5. Required to maintain flight examiner qualification. Periodically, as prescribed by regulations, must take and pass written and in-flight standardization/ evaluation examinations to include random no-notice evaluations.
