About This Position

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position for an AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN, Position Description Number D1549P01 and is a part of the 169 MXS/MXMCE, South Carolina Air National Guard.

Qualifications

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 & 2 ONLY. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO AOC 1. *If no referral is made from the target category(s), referrals MAY be made from subsequent categories (IF APPLICABLE) * AOC DEFINITIONS: Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard. Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard.

Min/Max Military Grades: E1-E6 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be rated qualified for this position your resume must show definitively at least 18 months experience in the following- installing, maintaining, repairing and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical system. Experience diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exists among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems.

Experience making electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools. Experience in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies. MILITARY REQUIREMENT: NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.

This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the closing date of the job vacancy

Major Duties

This position is located in the Electro Environmental Shop in the Component Repair Branch of the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in an Air National Guard Flying Wing, employing F-16 aircraft. The position functions to analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, remove, install, repair, modify, maintain, test, align, calibrate and certify the components of the aircraft electrical system the electronically and pneumatically controlled environmental system, and associated test equipment, and to certify these systems are air worthy, by intensive inspections of the Electrical/Electronic and Environmental System and peripherals.
